Vitamin D deficiency, a risk for cognitive impairment.

Vitamin D has been shown to be important for many reasons. It may help prevent bone loss, certain cancers, cardiovascular disease, and inflammation.

Research has now also indicated that vitamin D affects cognition (Llewellyn DJ, et al, 2008). 1766 participants aged 65 years and older were assessed for cognitive impairment and tested for 25-hydroxy vitamin D levels, which is the most common way of testing for vitamin D deficiencies.

When participants in the lowest quartile of vitamin D levels were compared to participants in the highest quartile, they were 2 to 3 times more likely to be
cognitively impaired.

Vitamin D deficiency is very common in young as well as older individuals. Get some sun and take between 1000 IU-2000 IU of vitamin D3 daily.

You will find more information on vitamin D at our website www.TissueRecovery.com, both under newsletters and also under articles and abstracts. You can order vitamin D3 online or call us at 800-883-1252.

Wishing you the best of health,

Didrik
