Impressive changes seen in the brain from meditation.

Meditation has for a long time been considered beneficial. As more research is conducted, a lot more benefits than just relaxation is documented.
The study reviewed explored the structural connectivity of the brain in long term meditators (Luders E, et al. 2011).
Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) was used to compare white matter fiber characteristics of long term meditators and a control group.
The results were very interesting and showed pronounced structural connectivity in the meditators compared to the controls throughout the entire brain.
It may take some practice to see the benefits from meditation, but it is worthwhile to put in the effort.
While there are many ways to meditate, I would recommend to practice an old traditional form.
