Where Recommendations are Based on Scientific Evidence
All the explanations and recommendations are based on published research and clinical experiences. You can even click on the references and it will take you to the original abstracts.

Neuropathies

People with blood sugar abnormalities like diabetes or insulin resistance are more susceptible to neuropathies causing symptoms of pain, numbness and dysfunction.

A herniated, degenerated intervertebral disc in the low back or neck can cause pain and numbness in a leg or an arm.

Recommendations

Research has shown that alpha lipoic acid improved neuropathic symptoms and deficits in diabetic neuropathy after using lipoic acid for 5 weeks (Zieger D, et al. 2006).

Pain (sciatica) and neurological changes measured by electromyography caused by a herniated disc in the low back have been documented to significantly improve by the use of alpha lipoic acid (thiotic acid) (Memeo A, Loiero M. 2008).

Vitamin B12 deficiency can sometimes be involved in neuropathies (Sun Y, et al. 2005).
