Improve factors involved in aging There are many things you can do to help slow down degeneration and aging, an anti-inflammatory, low glycemic index diet and exercise are important factors you have co ntrol over. It may even be a very easy way to affect some of the factors related to aging and that is to take resveratrol. Resveratrol is an antioxidant, but not just any antioxidant. It got a lot of attention after a study on mice showed that resveratrol improved several functions in these animals even when they were fed a high fat, high calorie diet (Baur JA, et al, 2006). Resveratrol produced changes associated with longer lifespan, some of these were increased insulin sensitivity, increased number of mitochondria which is the energy producing entity of the cell, and improved motor function meaning better ability to move. Resveratrol has also been documented to inhibit cancer in human cell lines (Ron co roni L, et al, 2008, Tang FY, et al, 2008, LeCorre L, et al, 2005), and has shown the ability to protect breast cells from carcinogenic estrogen metabolites (Zahid M, et al, 2008). Another benefit of resveratrol is its anti-inflammatory effect (Donnelly LE, et al, 2004, Takada Y, et al, 2004). Resveratrol may provide protective benefits against atherosclerosis because of its inhibition of platelet aggregation which is the formation of blood clots (Pace-Asciak CR, et al, 2005). Resveratrol has also documented a potent antifungal activity against candida albicans (Jung HJ, et al, 2007). As you can see resveratrol may provide many benefits, but it has shown to have a low bioavailability and metabolic stability because it is eliminated quickly (Walle T, et al, 2004). By using a methylated form of resveratrol this problem is eliminated. A methylated form of resveratrol has shown to have better bioavailability, better biological activity and approximately 5 to 8 fold higher permeability (absorption) than unmethylated resveratrol (Wen X, Walle T, 2006, Walle T, 2007). BioPro, Inc, TissueRe co very provides a methylated form of resveratrol also including quercetin for added benefits with the formula Resveratrol SC to provide you with a formula that makes scientific sense.
